Who We Are
We are a team of published authors, produced playwrights, and passionate administrators who champion Writopia Lab's unique approach to creative youth development.
Writopia Lab is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in New York City in April of 2007. We run creative writing workshops and camps for kids and teens. Our workshops have a maximum of eight students and are led by a published author or produced playwright who has been fully trained in our time-tested methodology. Almost every year, our students win more recognition for their writing than any other group of students in the nation.

Our Mission
Writopia Lab fosters joy, literacy, and critical thinking in children and teens from all backgrounds through creative writing.
We have never turned away a student whose family was unable to pay for workshops. Fifty percent of our students attend on either partial or full scholarships.
